Durán Giménez-Rico, Isabel
La Dra. Isabel Durán Giménez-Rico es Catedrática del Departamento de Filología Inglesa II. Fue Vicedecana de Estudiantes de la Facultad de Filología de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid de 2006 a 2010 y ha sido coordinadora del área de Humanidades de los Cursos de Verano de El Escorial. Su investigación y sus publicaciones sobre estudios de autobiografía, género, literatura femenina y etnicidad, incluyen la coedición de seis volúmenes sobre estudios de las mujeres en el ámbito de la Literatura de habla Inglesa (el último, titulado Diferencia, (des)igualdad y justicia / Differences, (In)Equality and Justice. Madrid: Fundamentos, 2010), el libro Miradas Transatlánticas/Transatlantic Vistas (Madrid: Fundamentos, 2011) además de unos cincuenta artículos, y el libro Autobiografía: versiones femeninas en la literatura norteamericana del siglo XX (1992). Es la Directora del Grupo de Investigación Complutense “Estudios de la mujer en el ámbito de los países de habla Inglesa” (Grupo nº 941381) y fue la Directora Académica del Congreso Mundial “Mundos de Mujeres/Women’s Worlds 2008”. También es la coordinadora de la página de Literatura Norteamericana dentro del portal de Humanidades de Liceus
Ha impartido conferencias en diversas universidades e instituciones españolas, además de en las Universidades de Bielefeld (Alemania), Olomouc (Chequia), Aarhus y Copenhague (Dinamarca), y en las universidades norteamericanas de Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara, UCLA, Dartmouth College y Georgia State. En el momento actual está escribiendo una monografía sobre autobiografía en los Estados Unidos. Ha sido Vicepresidenta de SAAS (Spanish Association for American Studies) hasta Abril de 2009 y miembro electo del General Council de ASA (American Studies Association), hasta Junio de2011. Ha sido Becaria Fulbright en dos ocasiones.

Dr. Isabel Durán is Professor of American Literature at the Department of English, Complutense University in Madrid (Spain). She was the Associate Dean of the School of Philology (2006-2010) and Coordinator for the Humanities at the El Escorial Summer Courses. She was Vice-president of SAAS (Spanish Association for American Studies) until 2009, and a member of the General Council of ASA (American Studies Association) from 2008 to 2011. Her research and publication record on gender studies, literature, autobiography and ethnicity include the edition of a seven-volume Women’s Studies collection (the last one being Diferencia, (des)igualdad y justicia / Differences, (In)Equality and Justice. Madrid: Fundamentos, 2010), following her bookAutobiography: Female Versions in 20th Century American Literature (in Spanish). She is also the co-editor of the book Miradas Transatlánticas /Transatlantic Vistas: Cultural Exchanges between Europe and the US (Madrid: Fundamentos, 2011). She is at present working on a book about contemporary American autobiography, and is doing research on Latina/o and literature, as part of a research team. She is the coordinator of a Spanish website on American Literature and was the Liceus Program, Chair of the Women’s Worlds Congress (Madrid, July 2008). She has been a Fulbright fellow on two occasions.
