María C. Latorre

BREVE CURRICULUM VITAE

 

La profesora María Concepción Latorre es en la actualidad miembro del grupo de expertos en comercio internacional de la Comisión Europea. Ha sido también consultor del Banco Mundial y Research Scholar en el Center for International Development de la Harvard Kennedy School, así como, Research Fellow del Real Colegio Complutense en la Universidad de Harvard. Ha realizado estancias de investigación en centros de prestigio como la Harvard Kennedy School, el CEPII, la University of Nottingham o la US International Trade Commission.Desarrolla sus investigaciones en el área de las empresas multinacionales, la economía internacional y los modelos de equilibrio general aplicado (MEGAs). Su tesis con título: “The effects of multinationals on host economies: A computable general equilibrium approach”, ha recibido el premio extraordinario de doctorado y la mención europea.Tiene publicaciones en revistas especializadas como World Development, The World Economy, Journal of Policy Modeling o Economic Modelling. Además de su docencia regular, ha tomado parte como profesor o mentor en iniciativas docentes innovadoras como el “CGE cloud classroom” o cursos especializados en multinacionales.

IN ENGLISH:

María C. Latorre is currently a member of the group of experts in international trade of the European Commission. She has also conducted other consulting projects for the World Bank and the Spanish Ministry of Economics and Competitiveness. Maria has been a Research Scholar at the Center for International Development at the Harvard Kennedy School and at Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University. She has held research visiting positions in the CEPII, the US International Trade Commission and the University of Nottingham. Her papers have been published in journals such as World Development, Journal of Policy Modeling and Economic Modelling, among others.
