Juan Antonio López Esteve es titulado en interpretación por la RESAD de Madrid (1983), ingeniero superior de telecomunicación por la UPM (1990), traductor por el Instituto de Lenguas Modernas y Traductores de la UCM (1991), licenciado en filología inglesa por la UCM, con premio extraordinario de fin de carrera (1996); profesor asociado en el departamento de Filología Inglesa de la Facultad de Filología de la UCM de 1997/98 a 2011/12, profesor honorífico desde 2014/15;

En el ámbito de la filología inglesa, ha traducido teatro (Thornton Wilder) y poesía (P. B. Shelley, Shakespeare), trabaja sobre material teatral inédito legado por William Layton (1913-1995), y enseña la aplicación práctica de los principios básicos de dramatología (Egri, García Barrientos) en la lectura y escritura de obras dramáticas.

In the scope of English Philology, he has focused upon translation of theatre (Thornton Wilder) and poetry (P. B. Shelley, Shakespeare), he works upon the William Layton’s non-edited dramatic legacy, and he teaches the practical use of basic principles of dramatology (Egri, García Barrientos) in the art of dramatic reading and writing.
